HONOR GUARD

 VFW Honor Guard

Members of the VFW Honor Guard serve a unique role in the mission of the organization. As a sub-group of the Post, members may serve as riflemen, flag bearers, as ceremony participants or attendees. They wear a special uniform with specific components including black trousers, white shirt, black shoulder braid, and a beret cap. The Color Guard members of the Honor Guard often lead local parades carrying three flags; United States, POW/MIA, and Post flags. The Honor Guard performs military funeral honors in churches, funeral homes, or at grave sites. The Honor Guard in our Post has about 20 members who participate in over 20 funerals each year, and the Color Guard leads four local parades annually.
