Our indoor and outdoor venues accommodate up to 30 people each, for your meetings, graduation parties, and other important personal or professional gatherings. Veterans and nonprofits can use our facilities free of charge, while others pay a nominal fee. Check our calendar for availability. For details email: lebourm@hotmail.com.

Honor our Fallen

If you or someone you know recently lost a family member who served in the military, you may request our VFW Honor Guard to perform a memorial service. Each year, the VFW Honor Guard and the VFW Auxiliary perform memorials at gravesides, funeral homes, and churches for no charge. Contact your funeral home for details and requirements.

Show your Community Spirit

Come out to any or all of the community parades. Our Color Guard and Rifle Team honor our veterans, citizens, and community by leading local parades with our flag held high throughout the year. There is nothing more humbling than witnessing citizens like you showing your patriotism along the parade route.

Wreaths Across America

Buy a wreath and come to the Combined Ceremony at Fairview Cemetery, Saturday, December 14th at Noon!

Cement Your Support

Honor a veteran with a personalized memorial brick paver installed at the Veterans Memorial located beside the Otsego County Courthouse, in downtown Gaylord. Applications are available at the site and online, see link below.

For nearly 100 years, VFW Post 1518 has welcomed military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group in Gaylord, Michigan. Our common bond is the battlefield, encompassing service in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Korea, the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, and peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace. Join us in continuing to serve veterans and the community in Northern Michigan and across the Nation!

Monthly Post and Auxiliary meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at 6 PM in the VFW Room of the Gaylord Bowling Center (1200 Gornick, Gaylord MI). Use the left door as you come in from the parking lot.
 
Also, listen to "Military Monday" every Monday morning on Eagle 101.5 FM between 8:15-8:30 AM to hear Mike Reling, weekday morning host, interview Post officers and members, and other area veterans... sharing their unique stories and military experiences.
